Can I Return Online Purchase to Microsoft Store

Microsoft Shop Online Return in Store - Scary / Sketchy

So, I bought something online on Microsoft Store, and ended up not needing it. I saw you tin simply bring information technology dorsum to the store, bang-up (or and so I thought!).

After waiting for about 30 minutes for them do to the "return" (and that's considering there was no lineup), the guy says it's all done, and I should get a refund in 5 to seven days. He doesn't requite me anything to confirm they got the item, I but have to take his discussion for it. He said I would become an email confirming the return.

Upon getting home, I did get an email, merely it only says I'thou supposed to render the particular by postal service (with a pre-paid shipping label). At this point I freaked out and went to the conversation selection, and the agent just said he can't see anything in the system, and I should contact the store where I returned the item, and that I shouldn't return online items in store.

Any experiences with this? I'thou very scared at this point. Microsoft is a large company, I tin can't believe they have such rudimentary render procedure...

That's strange why wouldn't the store procedure the online return? He didn't provide you with a return receipt in store?

Gave me null, I was very surprised. He then called the store director who said I would become an electronic mail nearly it, just when I checked my email equally I got habitation, looks similar I'm supposed to send it by mail. :(

Maybe they just messed up on the email and all is fine. Y'all should just call the store once again to confirm.

From their return policy "we'll ship you a confirmation email with additional return details, if applicable.". Not applicable in this example, merely probably sent it anyways past mistake.

Sorry, I live far from the store and couldn't go there once again. I received another email from Microsoft today, stating the following:

We'll credit your account before long
Hi at that place,
At your asking, nosotros've initiated a refund. Sorry to come across that y'all changed your mind. Please know that it may not announced in your account until your side by side billing cycle.

When I go check the status on the order page, it says the following:

Return status Pending

Refund status Not started

Then not much changed from yesterday. The shop manager bodacious me that this is how the process works, I merely find it quite weird that you are supposed to driblet off the item with them, and get cypher in render in terms of confirmation.

I went through this concluding year and was worried as well. Everything was ok and the refund came through as they said it would. They definitely should give customers better confirmation. The way they practice it is nerve wracking

Information technology might be scary just this is just how they do information technology.

In a couple cases, I've gotten the first e-mail service while I'g in the store.

I wouldn't worry nearly information technology until you've hit the 8th twenty-four hours.

That is weird. Sounds similar basically they're doing the same thing as if you had've just shipped the particular back, but doing information technology on your behalf :\

Would make more sense to just render information technology right away. Just alas.

In most cases it works out as it shoud even though customers are left in the dark for a menstruum of time.
Thats why if theres an option for gratis return shipping/printing out prepaid render lablel, I e'er use that pick, equally I can track the retun shipment right abroad and know exactly when I should go my refund or become aware of any aircraft issues.
If y'all bring it to the shop, you lot leave it at the mercy of store staff to send it back to wherever the return center is (i.e. sears) and wait for the refund. Merely over again, in nigh cases it works as expected.
I would only take back an online purchase to the retail-store if I was guaranteed a refund immediately on the spot (i.e. walmart).

Ok, update on this. I still did not become any emails from Microsoft, and the order condition page all the same says refund pending, so I tried online chat, and they said they already issued a refund. When I cheque my CC, I tin can meet the refund, and so it's all good. It's merely actually poor advice from Microsoft, sadly. Next time I will just practise it past postal service, and hopefully the process is less clunky!
